It will be a party for 100,000 spectators for the Frecce tricolori, which will fly over Trani on Sunday 12 May at the culmination of an air show that will begin at 3.30 pm. The calculation of the people with their noses in the air is calculated by adding the citizens and guests who will arrive from all over southern Italy (no other stops in the South other than Trani), considering that the operational plan of the event, already available online, provides for 7,730 parking spaces and bus spaces up to a maximum of 70.
UNPRECEDENTED PEDESTRIAN AREA
All this will allow us to guarantee an unprecedented pedestrian area from 1pm on Saturday 11th May and from 8am on Sunday 12th, the date of the event. The portion of the municipal territory totally without vehicles will develop along the coastal area from via Malcangi and the seafront, continuing along via Aldo Moro and via Mario Pagano until reaching via Alvarez.
Within this large territory, a limited traffic zone will be established for residents. To protect the enormous pedestrian area there will be dynamic roadblocks to direct vehicles to parking, but also roadblocks and positioning of new jerseys.
EXCHANGE PARKING
The car parks set up for the occasion are fundamental, all interchangeable with shuttle buses available to take users to the most popular areas for watching the show: a single daily rate of 5 euros has been established to make use of them.
Below are the planned car parks, all subject to availability: from via Andria the areas of via Parini, via Grecia and via Finanzieri will be available; from Corato, obligatory direction towards via delle Forze Armate and, from the roundabout in via Istria, towards the car park which will be set up along the entire via Falcone and Borsellino.
ROAD WITH RESTRICTIONS
The same area will serve those arriving from Bisceglie, who in turn will find access to Trani from the Lama bridge closed, which will only be accessible when leaving Trani towards Bisceglie. Therefore, the citizens of Bisceglie will have to use the state road 16 bis and reach, from the Trani south exit, the car parks in via Falcone e Borsellino. Furthermore, right on the 16 bis, the Trani centro exit will be closed in both directions, so that vehicles use the remaining three to be all channeled towards their respective parking areas.
DISABLED AREAS AND BUS
There will be an area exclusively dedicated to people with disabilities and discomfort, for whose free access you can now register on the telephone number 3716965678. Another number is dedicated to bus drivers for booking their parking, the rate of which one time payment will be 25 euros: they will have to contact 0883486084.
SYNERGIES IN THE FIELD
In other words, an unprecedented traffic plan and decidedly superior to the one set up a few years ago for Battiti live. The reason is that in this case there is no single place for the event, but the entire chosen area itself becomes an area for enjoying the show.
Hence the forecast of 100,000 present which allowed, when preparing the operational plan at the Prefecture and Police Headquarters, to implement a detailed control activity of the territory through the police, military, local police and civil protection forces.
TOURISM IN BREAKTHROUGH
In the meantime, on a tourist level, bookings in hotels, B&Bs and other accommodation facilities are flooding in. And in the same operational plan of the event, the Municipality of Trani highlights the “City in your pocket” project, made possible thanks to funding from the Puglia Region and aimed at events and marketing and territorial promotion initiatives.
Thus, from the portal dedicated to the “Air show”, it is possible to discover, in five different sections, the Sveva, Antica, Castello, Porto and Ebraica areas, exploring – initially online, but hopefully in person – all the places of interest between churches and buildings. The «Frecce tricolori» event is organized by Aeroclub Bari, the City of Trani and the Air Force: «We are waiting for you – we read in the official program – for an exciting afternoon of aerobatics, to experience together an unforgettable moment visible from the Trani seafront ».
