With the theme “O Jesus; You live on that soul that seeks you, loves you, that desires you” The celebrations in honor of Santa Gemma will begin tomorrow morning with the Eucharistic Celebration at 9.30 am in the San Vito Sanctuary on the seashore.
From tomorrow to Wednesday 15th every day except Tuesday morning which will continue at the Sanctuary of San Vito, the Holy Rosary, the novena of Santa Gemma and the Eucharistic Celebration will be in the Parish of the same name in Via Castelvetrano in Mazara del Vallo.
Some appointments:
Wednesday 8 Mayat 6.30 pm the Eucharistic Celebration in the Diocesan Sanctuary of San Vito on the seashore, on the occasion of XXXI anniversary of the pastoral visit of Saint John Paul II to our City and Diocese.
Saturday 11 May at 7 pm the evening Eucharistic Celebration on the eve of the Solemnity of the Ascension where the sacrament of the anointing of the sick will be administered.
Monday 13 May being the feast of Our Lady of Fatimat 8.30 pm there will be one inter-parish torchlight procession starting from the Parish of Santa Gemma to the Parish of Cristo Re with the following itinerary: Santa Gemma Church, Via Santa Gemma, Via Castelvetrano, Via Enrico Medi, Via Val di Mazara, Piazza Tre Valli, Via Mille di Quarto, Via Arturo Toscanini, Via Cappuccini, Piazza Cristo Re.
Tuesday 14 May, being Tuesday, the Novena of Santa Gemma and the Eucharistic Celebration will be at the Sanctuary of San Vito on the seashore.
Finally, on Thursday 16 May, the day of the Feast of Santa Gemma, at 7.00 pm the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Monsignor Angelo Giurdanella, Bishop of Mazara del Vallo with the traditional rite of lighting the votive lamp, the act of entrustment to Santa Gemma and the presentation of the “GEMMA 2024” award. At the end of the Solemn Celebration a community dinner will close the solemn celebrations.
