I TRAVEL TO ITALY. ITINERARIES OF CONTEMPORARY ARCHITECTURE

06/05/2024 – The exercise of travel, in addition to following the routes traced by the Masters, can be practiced through itineraries of contemporary architecture. The exhibition is an example of this I travel to italy. Contemporary architecture itineraries, scheduled from 12 May to 23 June 2024 in the internal courtyard of Rocca Estense in Lugo (Ravenna).

The project is promoted by ProViaggiArchitettura, with the patronage of the Municipality of Lugo, of the CNAPPC – National Council of architects, planners, landscape architects, conservators, of the Federation of the orders of architects, planners, landscape architects and conservators of Emilia-Romagna and of the OAPPC – Order of architects, planners, landscape architects and conservators of the province of Ravenna.

The route, real and expository, winds through 19 places from North to South, territories that host projects conceived by young Italian architecture firms with around ten years of activity behind them. An overview that is not exhaustive but «represents a significant cross-section of the work of a new generation of architects: professionals who conduct their research through the academy and the construction site, passing through architectural competitions as a preferential route towards the quality of the project».

The projects include an agricultural pavilion, a liturgical hall, a contemporary art gallery, a farmhouse converted into a hospitality space, a funeral home, as well as a pavilion dedicated to temporary exhibitions and conferences on the theme of landscape memory mining. Libraries, workplaces for artists, residences, offices, schools that dot the peninsula, becoming part of the cultural and natural heritage of the country. The selection was conducted on the basis of a search by link between public and private space, external and internalaimed at establishing a relational process for sharing spaces.

The The project aims to promote the relationships that are generated between citizens and the city, as well as the synergies that have been created between the partners who have actively joined the initiative by supporting its implementation.
