Another day of strike of national importance: tomorrow, 6 May, local public transport will stop. The abstention from work of the personnel involved is 24 hours, although with different methods depending on the territories
The strike is proclaimed by USB Lavoro Privato. We protest against the lack of openness of employers’ associations towards requests for contract renewal, against salaries considered too low to cope with the cost of living, too heavy workloads and working hours and a lack of security
Among the acronyms that joined the strike are CUB Trasporti, SGB, Cobas Lavoro Privato, Adl Cobas and Al-Cobas. Many cities are involved: from Milan to Rome, from Venice to Genoa and Bologna
It is therefore specified that during strike times “urban, suburban and extra-urban public transport services will not be guaranteed” and that, more specifically, “for urban, suburban and extra-urban transport in the Bologna basin, only journeys from central terminus towards the suburbs, and vice versa, with departure times up to 8.15 in the morning and until 7.15 in the evening
Being of national importance, the inconveniences risk affecting all of Italy. For Bari, for example, the staff of Ferrovie Appulo Lucane will go on strike from 3.40pm to 7.40pm. Stop also for the staff of Ast Regione Sicilia, from 5.30 to 6.30 and from 9.30 to 12.30, and for those of the TPL companies of the Campania Region, from 9 to 13.
