E-Work Faenza earns its stay in the Italian women’s basketball Serie A. At the Palabubani in Faenza Paolo Seletti’s team manages to get the better of the O.ME.PS Battipaglia with a score of 81-60, thus winning the playout series against the bells in the decisive game 3. Battipaglia, on the other hand, second to last in the regular season, will have to play everything against Sanga Milano, against whom they lost both championship matches.

The first quarter was balanced for a long time, with the bells managing to put their noses forward‘8-11 and on 11-14 and then suffered a 6-0 run that put E-Work ahead at 17-14. The home team kicked into high gear in the second half of the third set, thanks above all to an impenetrable defence: another 10-0 break and at half time it’s 41-30.

It thus becomes a massacre, with Faenza managing to widen its margin at the start of the third quarter to 47-32. Battipaglia’s reaction only takes her eleven points downwith E-Work returning to a comfortable 54-36 towards the end of the third set, the hosts can thus manage until the end.

Liz Dixon and Marzia Tagliamento they are the protagonists of the large victory in Faenza with 23 points each, the American also adds nine rebounds, thus coming close to a double double. For Battipaglia, who shoots three points very poorly (4/23 overall), Giovanna Smorto’s 14 points and 5 rebounds are not enough.
