Confagricoltura at Macfrut in Rimini

Confagricoltura brings the topics on the sector’s agenda to Macfrut, scheduled in Rimini from 8 to 10 May: from geographical indications in light of recent developments in community legislation, to nutritional marketing as a push for the market; passing through the analysis of the drivers that drive consumption, organic products, subsidized credit to promote innovation and investments.

At stand 199 in Pavilion D5, Confagricoltura will host experts, technicians, companies and institutions for a program full of meetings that will follow the key words of the 41st edition of the initiative: business, knowledge and networking.

Fruit and vegetables are an essential sector of Made in Italy, with a value reaching 16 billion euros, equal to a quarter of national agricultural production. On the consumption front, it represents over 19 percent of Italians’ food expenditure, confirming itself as one of the pillars of the Mediterranean Diet. Our exports are growing (by 9 percent, in 2023 compared to 2022), exceeding 57 billion euros in value.

The participation of Minister Lollobrigida is expected

It starts on May 8th with a round table on protecting the competitiveness of our businesses which will involve President Massimiliano Giansanti, in conversation with the leaders of other fruit and vegetable associations, large-scale retail trade and markets, where the participation of Minister Lollobrigida is expected.

The analysis will focus on the challenges facing businesses, taking into account the complexity of international scenarios at a geopolitical level, on the one hand, and climate change, on the other. Research and innovation play a crucial role in the resilience of the sector and quality increasingly plays a preponderant role.
