Altamura in Serie C, the party is here

Big celebration in Altamura: it started on the pitch by lifting the cup for having won the Serie D championship – group H and continued with the procession of the team and managers on board an open-top bus. Everything is red and white and everywhere there is also a big “C” to celebrate the jump in category to Lega Pro. A promotion achieved two days early and already partly celebrated two weeks ago. And it continues from today until Tuesday.

On the field, last of the championship. Fc Matera arrives at D’Angelo, still in the running for the last useful position in the promotion play-offs. It ends 1-1 with goals in the first half. In the 25th minute Prado gave the Matera team the lead, cleverly exploiting a free-kick scheme: having received the assist, he entered the small area and scored. The hosts equalized in the 45th minute, with Saraniti, very good with an angled shot, kicked from outside the area. In the second half good opportunities from both sides. For Team Altamura it’s the beginning of the party. For Fc Matera, however, the cold shower comes from Casarano, winner in the 96th minute against Bitonto. And so Casarano gets fifth place in the standings and qualifies for the play-offs while Bitonto is relegated to Eccellenza.

On the other fields, it is worth mentioning the salvation of Fbc Gravina, achieved at home: a draw against Manfredonia is enough.
