TURIN – Arpa Piemonte controls are increasing following the increase in electromagnetic field limits for population exposure.

ARPA PIEDMONTE CONTROLS INCREASE

With the entry into force on 30 April 2024 of the art. 10 of law n.214 of 30 December 2023, the attention value and the quality objective have been raised from 6 V/m to 15 V/m (Volts per meter) while waiting for the exposure limits to be adapted to European legislation. . Arpa Piemonte has already positioned numerous control units for the continuous monitoring of exposure levels in the points (close to saturated sites) identified as liable to increase the power of the systems to control variations in the population’s exposure in terms of the electric field. At the moment there are no changes compared to the value measured in the days before the increase in the attention value. The results of the monitoring campaigns will be validated and published periodically on the Geoportal. Arpa is proceeding to evaluate the requests for modification/implementation of the plants which are carried out following the increase in the electromagnetic space available to operators resulting from the new value of attention and to update the regional register of plants.
