We talked about the situation of Old Port Of Sanremo with the candidate for the city council Beppe Zaoliwho is running in support of the candidacy of Alessandro Mager with the list Forums. As a sailmaker and president of the Sanremo Yacht Club, Zaoli has a peculiar vision of the internal dynamics and life of a port. Port, the so-called “Old” one which will soon be the subject of a profound restyling, which will include works on land and at sea, with a focus on road improvements and an underground car park.
In recent days, the manager of the Public Works sector Danilo Burastero had announced a new step in the restyling programme, however, there are concerns about the impact of the construction site on the entire city center and on the activities of the premises in the port area during the works .
“This is a great opportunity for Sanremo and we must be very careful to ensure that this project goes in a desirable direction for both private individuals and the municipality,” declares Zaoli. “When we talk about a project like this we need to evaluate what currently exists in the port. A varied ecosystem of associations that have given a lot to the city. At that point a complete, shared and innovative project for the city must be found, which does not aim to be conservative but which looks to the future”.
