The exponential growth of interest in football among girls has led the company to Trieste Victory Academy to develop with conviction a project for women’s football (called Trieste Women Academy), which involved the greatest number of athletes in the greatest number of categories possible until reaching almost 160 members distributed in just three years of activity (the national Under 15 teams in the past season – a category that will reappear in the next – and currently the provincial of Esordienti and Pulcine).
The initiative takes inspiration from the current manager and coordinator – as well as “daughter of art” Francesca de Bosichigrandson of Nicola de Bosichi historic president of ASD Trieste Calcio and also nephew of the current president of the Trieste Academy Alessandro de Bosichi.

The same Francesca explains: “The birth of the Trieste Academy in 2017, an innovative company strongly oriented towards the technical and human development of the youngest, lights the spark, which a few years later detonates the project, which had already been conceived and considered for a long period of time waiting for the right moment to be realized. Our women’s section, in fact, was born with the first open day in the history of our club in the summer of 2021 and manages to develop three categories, also giving life to the Under 15 category registered in the National Championship (in addition to the First mixed kicks category, Women’s Pulcini and Female Beginners). Creating an inclusive and educational environment was a priority, encouraging the participation of girls from all social and economic backgrounds. The project has always been accompanied and guided from the beginning by highly skilled technical and managerial figures, who have contributed significantly to its implementation and development. Thanks to their commitment and expertise it was possible to carry out the project successfully, guaranteeing an inclusive and educational environment for all the girls involved. Among future projects there is the strong intention to continue to create synergies with other sports entities, local institutions and schools to encourage the growth and diffusion of women’s football in the area. Through strategic partnerships and development programs, we aim to create a sustainable and inclusive sports ecosystem that can offer opportunities to all young people interested in practicing this sport. The creation of the women’s section was a particularly demanding challenge, made even more complex by the intrinsic difficulties of the local context. The lack of women’s football clubs in the area and the limited diffusion of football culture among girls in the region have represented significant obstacles. However, despite the difficulties, we have chosen to persevere and invest energy, resources and passion in women’s football because we firmly believe in its transformative potential. We believe that sport is an extraordinary tool for promoting the empowerment of young women, promoting personal growth and establishing a sense of community and belonging. Encourage your daughters to study, travel a lot and do what they love well, not to find a husband. This season both the Debuts and the Pulcines do three training sessions a week at the same time in our sports center in via Petracco, i.e. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 5pm to 6.30pm”.

And his dad Riccardo de Bosichi (vice president of the via Petracco club), one of Nicola’s three sons, adds: “My daughter is the sports director and manager of the women’s section. She had started playing the Montebello Don Bosco. Then she took the personal initiative regarding the fact that women can play football. Initially I was skeptical. Then I saw the world championship, but also the training sessions and I believed in the possibilities of moving forward with this project, which is now taking off very well with the contribution of the staff made up of Pasquale Abagnale, Fulvio Tuccella And Michele Buccino. A fundamental thing is also the follow-up of the parents, which gives us just as much satisfaction. The objective of our society is to have a women’s section, we must continue to grow in this area, but I am convinced that in some ways the future must also be based on this reality”.
