Fiumicino, duty free thefts: 8 reports at the airport

The Carabinieri of the Rome Airports Company at the Leonardo Da Vinci airport identified and reported 7 people for attempted theft and one for violation of the Dacur and sanctioned 6 NCC drivers while procuring customers among the passengers.

Specifically, the Carabinieri of the Fiumicino Airport Station, in separate activities, reported 7 people, of these, 4 foreign citizens and 3 Italians, who attempted to pass the duty free checkouts located inside the airport, without paying , while they were waiting for their respective flights. The military found several perfumery and cosmetic products, worth over 1,900 euros.

Travelers and thieves

The travelers were noticed by the security staff who immediately alerted the Carabinieri, thus managing to recover the stolen goods and return them to the managers of the commercial establishments. All of them were reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Civitavecchia for the crime of attempted theft.

Illegal NCCs

There were 6 NCC drivers sanctioned by the Carabinieri of the Fiumicino Airport Station, caught near Arrivals Terminal 1, while they were illicitly procuring customers among passengers in transit, outside the stalls, without having the right, for a total amount of approximately 12,500 euros. Another driver was reported because, despite already being subject to a ban on access to urban areas issued by the Rome Police Headquarters, he was tracked down and checked at Terminal 1 of the airport.
