Tensed family relationships and unresolved issues are often a powder keg ready to explode and it doesn’t take much to trigger the fuse without evaluating the consequences. Last night, among the various phone calls to the Single Emergency Number 112, one was from a 50-year-old from Potenza who requested help at his home due to his younger brother who was trying to break down the front door and threatening him with death.
The Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the local Company arrived at the applicant’s residence in a few minutes, surprising the relative who was still intent on damaging the door of the house in an attempt to enter inside. The attacker, despite the presence of the military personnel, continued to threaten his brother with death.
The man was then blocked by the Carabinieri and arrested for private violence and housebreaking. After the formalities, the man, a 45-year-old from Potenza, was taken to the Potenza prison at the disposal of the Judicial Authority. Following the validation hearing by the GIP of the local Court, the man was subjected to the precautionary measure of house arrest. It should be noted that the presumption of innocence applies towards him until a final conviction is reached.
