Imola Loves Bike returns, the project to promote the two-wheeled activities that take place
in Imola and the surrounding area. This year it will be colored yellow to pay homage to the Tour de France. There are many events on the program between May and September in a succession of competitions and family walks, to discover the area and nature.
Imola Loves Bike is a project that unites, once again, the Department of Sustainable Mobility, that of the Autodrome and Tourism and the Department of Sport. In view of the approach to the Tour, the calendar starts with the introductory cycling courses at the Parco dell’Osservanza Bike Park (every Saturday except that of the GP) open to girls and boys from 4 to 11 years old organized by the Association Giocathlon with the contribution of the Metropolitan City of Bologna, which took place every Saturday morning in April and will continue in May.
The season of initiatives was officially opened by Tutto in Bici, organized by Giocathlon con Mosaico and Officina Imagineta, with the contribution of the Municipality of Imola and Ceas Imola. This morning (meeting at 9.45) the final event with the ride that will start from the Osservanza park and arrive at Bosco della Frattona with the Ceas Imolese. ‘PedaliAmo la natura’ will be held on 12 May, a ride on the Santerno cycle path to discover the Chiusa di Codrignano and the Zirina Regional Nursery, organized by the Ceas Imolese in collaboration with the Municipality. On May 25th the stage of ‘The rickshaw pedals equality’, a tour from Rimini to
Bologna by Salvaciclisti Bologna and Period Think Tank to unite gender inequalities
and sustainable mobility in a series of communication and awareness-raising initiatives on gender equity.
On May 25th and 26th we will move to the Autodromo, where solidarity will be the protagonist: in fact we will cycle for Imola Charity Bike, with a 6 hours of team cycling that will help raise funds for research against Cystic Fibrosis. Many cycling champions will compete, led by the President of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Matteo Marzotto.
There will be other events before the highlight, the passage of the Tour de France, on June 30th (expected around 1pm). The Municipality, together with the sports associations, is organizing a morning
in the Autodromo and in Piazza Senna. In Piazza Matteotti instead she will start on July 10th, one of the stages of the Giro d’Italia Femminile.
