The inaugural tap ball of the playoff semi-final of the Serie C championship.

As it is known, the Academy will face Pallacanestro Cercola, team that came seventh in the regular season, but was able to eliminate the second strength of the Caiazzo tournament in game 3 of the quarterfinals, winning the decisive away match.

It will therefore be a challenge to be taken with due caution, the one that Matteo Cagnacci and his companions will be called upon to face, in an attempt to start the series on the right foot and in front of the friendly public.and will send the winner to the final to challenge Antoniana and Parete for promotion to Serie B.

The orange roster, well led by coach Virgilio Esposito on the bench, is based on the experience and talent of Moccia (born in ’84) and Smorra (’88) among the wingers and on Giuseppe Luongo (born in ’91, author of 28 points in game 3 in Caiazzo) under the basket, combined with the energy and effervescence of the younger Gervasio, the pair of playmakers De Rosa and Platano, as well as Hauber, Scognamiglio and Nappo, ready to guarantee their contribution coming off the bench.

The two regular season precedents, moreover, although both won by the rossoblù of the capital (58-59; 75-70) showed off a tenacious opponent capable of coming back from -15 in the Potenza match, which was then decided only in the final seconds in favor of the team coached by coach Roberto Miriello.

The Lucanians have convincingly qualified for the semi-final and after a weekend of rest, by virtue of the 2-0 previously inflicted on Portici, they return to the field ten days after the last official match.

Matteo Cagnacci, with twenty-eight points on the scoresheet, he was the top scorer and it was the guard’s turn to present tomorrow’s match:

We face a team made up of a mix of experienced players, who have played many matches like these, and young people who will put their desire at the service of the team – argues the former Canosa – the last victory in game 3 in Caiazzo highlights their ability to win even away, on one of the most difficult pitches in the championship, but we are ready to face them at home, counting on the strong push of our fans”.

Under the orders of the race directors Perretti of Naples and La Corte of Salerno the appointment is therefore for tomorrow at 6.30 pm at the PalaPergola in Contrada Rossellino, entry is free as always.
