Medea Odv, a non-governmental organization representing interests in the Chamber of Deputies and authorized to carry out institutional liaison activities between civil society and deputies and presidents of parliamentary commissions, awarded a special mention to the former police commissioner of Agrigento, promoted to general manager of public security last November, Emanuele Ricifari. The recognition, given to prestigious personalities who have distinguished themselves for social or service works, was given to Ricifari, in the strategic Intelligence/Security section, “for the commendable activity of protecting equality rights, spreading the vital enthusiasm aimed at progress, with tireless valorization of constitutional ideals, for the laudable professional commitment, for the dissemination of legality and its defensive principles in favor of the weakest sections of society and colleagues, tenaciously enhancing their merit according to meritocracy and objectivity”.
Special mention, again from Medea Odv, “for their commitment to guaranteeing human rights” also goes to deputy commissioner Roberto Cilona, an official of the Agrigento police, and to Sheikh Ali Hussan who is the cultural mediator interpreter who works at the hotspot of Lampedusa. In this case, the special mentions were awarded by Vittorio Rizzi: deputy chief of police. The mentions awarded in the Chamber of Deputies this year had the value of reflection on the duties of solidarity and mercy. Also awarded were carabinieri, magistrates, priests, lawyers, writers, journalists, musicians, singers, stylists and also a UNHCR representative in Italy and the Holy See.
