Riccardo Orgolesu, a student from Olbia, wins

For the eighth edition of the Certamen named after the teacher Andrea Blasina, a piece of Greek prose by Isocrates, master of rhetoric and educator of the ruling class, was chosen. The best translation was that of Riccardo Orgolesu, a fourth year student at the Gramsci High School in Olbia, who won the first prize of five hundred euros in the competition held at the Azuni High School in Sassari.

Giulia Oggiano, a fifth year student at the Azuni High School, and Antonella Contu, a fifth year student at the Asproni High School in Nuoro, were awarded the second prize of three hundred euros and the third of two hundred euros respectively.

The competition was organized by the Greek and Latin department of the Liceo Azuni in collaboration with the Sassari delegation of the Italian Association of Classical Culture and with the contribution of the Blasina family for the prizes up for grabs.

Around forty students from the fourth and fifth classes of classical high school from various institutes in Olbia, Tempio, Ozieri, Sassari, Alghero, Nuoro, Oristano, Quartu Sant’Elena and Cagliari competed in the competition.
