Important position taken by Ideale Grigio yesterday, the birthday of the City of Alessandria.
We report the text of the press release:
“On an important day for the City of Alessandria like today, we have taken note from the press of the transfer, over two months ago and in the total silence of the interested parties, of the ownership of the parent company Alessandria 2023 on Swiss soil, even if with the same actors, and for the usual price – more than symbolic, we would say humiliating – of 1 euro.
Without wanting to go into the merits of the possible reasons, which we believe to be economic, which determined this choice, we would like to underline at this moment the absolute feeling of impotence that the city and the entire fans are experiencing in the face of the corporate events of our beloved shirt grey.
And this feeling does nothing but increasingly strengthen our belief in the need for football in Alexandria to speak Alexandrian again.
For a year now we have seen a succession of owners, always economically fragile and without any professional experience in the world of football, who have no connection with the territory.
Reading in the newspapers hypotheses of bankruptcy or other corporate scenarios, which hopefully are not true but certainly not unrealistic, pushes us to reiterate even more forcefully the importance of activating all the necessary resources (institutions – economic fabric – fans) so that Alessandria and football return to the city and the Alessandria area.
A strong commitment from everyone is necessary. On the part of the fans for the indispensable support in terms of affection, warmth and support that they have always given and will continue to give with ever greater vigor, but also on the part of the city’s economic fabric, both in terms of participation and effective financial support for every initiative, even new, that can lead to preserving that heritage that is common to all citizens and our community.
An initiative that can only belong to Alessandria, the area and its fans, without having to be forced to look elsewhere for resources which, in light of the facts, seem to be increasingly scarce.
The future of the Grays is more uncertain than ever, but the only certainty we must have at this moment is that any future project for the relaunch and/or rebirth of the Grays cannot ignore the popular participation of the fans and the involvement of the Alessandria economic fabric. ”
