Spezia, D’Angelo towards Cosenza: “The only thing that counts is scoring points”
Descriptive text here

Spezia has its destiny in its own hands. The Ligurians would be safe from fifteenth if the 2023/24 Serie B championship ended today, thanks to the victory against Palermo which gave them a three-point advantage over Ascoli, Ternana and Bari who are chasing. Of these four, one is saved, one is relegated and the other two will most likely play the play outs, given the delay of the second-to-last Feralpisalò.

Coach Luca D’Angelo therefore asks his team not to make too many calculations, but to take the field in Cosenza only with the aim of scoring points. “The team only has to think about the match against Cosenza, without concentrating so much on the league table – he said on the eve of the departure for Calabria -. We need points and we have to get them even on a difficult pitch like the one we play on tomorrow. The players are everyone is fine, clearly some are more tired; we will make assessments before the match. But they are all available at the moment.”

Spezia is mathematically saved with 4 points between Marulla and the last match, at home against Venezia. With a victory, however, they are sure to avoid direct relegation. That’s no small thing at this point in the championship, given that the whites have been in the slums for a long time. However, with D’Angelo on the bench the turning point came and a play-off points average. Furthermore, the coach’s contract would be renewed for a further season in the event of salvation. “It’s a fact, but we’re all just focused on the next game.”
