Bakery Piacenza challenges Jesi in game 1 of the playoff quarter-finals
Descriptive text here

Bakery Piacenza achieved a real feat by qualifying for the Serie B Nazionale Lnp Old Wild West 2023/24 playoffs. After a season written by protagonists, the red and whites took the last and decisive step with the away victory on the Juvecaserta pitch. A victory strongly desired but above all by interpreting the match well. It is no coincidence that Bakery hit 16 of the 29 attempted triples, all of which however were the result of sharing the ball in search of the best placed and free teammate. This was the mantra that Coach Salvemini instilled in his boys. Thanks to this mentality he was able to achieve an incredible result such as participating in the post season. Imagining what Piacenza had done at the beginning of the season was unthinkable, and for this reason it went well beyond our wildest expectations.

Captain Mastroianni and his teammates were very good, and however the championship would have ended they would have deserved only great applause. And instead they gave themselves the playoffs, going through their best form and proving to be the best team in group A, apart from leaders Pielle Livorno. The results say it: eight successes in the last nine games, the arithmetic salvation which was the declared objective of the club achieved with three rounds to spare, and for the first time in the season they managed to climb the table up to sixth place. Piacenza went beyond all limits, beyond its possibilities, but it did so with commitment and dedication, working every single day in the gym and overcoming all the difficulties together. Now the bar has been raised further, because the highlight of the season has arrived, and with a free mind and a light heart the Bakery is ready to face Jesi in the first round of the playoffs.

Criconia’s words to Radio Sound

«There is great satisfaction with the goal achieved – begins the guard Martino Criconia – given the progress of the season which is not always easy. The string of eight victories in nine races lifted us up to sixth place, something unthinkable just two months earlier. But we understood that by playing as a team you can win, and by continuing like this we achieved an excellent result. Now the fun begins, and since the primary objective was salvation we can face these playoffs, let’s say, with lightness and tranquility. We know we can do very well and that we can put even an opponent like Jesi in difficulty who didn’t finish third in the standings by chance. They are an excellent team, they have both the experience and the physical strength to run and sustain a five-game series”.

Series that will begin on Sunday 5 May at the PalaTriccoli in Jesi with game 1 scheduled at 6:00 pm. On Tuesday it will be repeated again in the Marche region for the second act with tap-off at 8.30 pm. The series will move to Emilia for game 3, Friday 10 May at 8.30 pm at the PalaBakery, where the possible fourth match will also be played on Sunday 12 May at 6.00 pm. If necessary, for game 5 we will move back to PalaTriccoli, with the decisive tap-off scheduled for Wednesday 15 May at 8.30 pm.
