“Now my son is afraid to go up there”

Same school bus, new bullying incident. It happened just Thursday and the victim, this time, is the younger sister of the 12-year-old boy targeted on April 18 by four eighth-grade girls. The brother had been attacked with a punch on the head and then hit on the back of the head with a mobile phone before having his trolley thrown onto his back just for allowing himself to move the backpack of one of the older students from a seat. A “lesson” that cost him a 5-day prognosis. The complaint filed with the police by the teenager’s family has not yet brought education back to the school transport line that accompanies elementary and middle school students attending the schools of a comprehensive institute in the area. Now the little girl, a few years younger, would have been targeted near the stop by the same four students, in particular by the one who had raised her hands on the 12-year-old student. By giving her a middle finger, she would have addressed the phrase “Hello, say hello to your brother”. Her friends would support her bully, encouraging her, “Do it to her every day if you see her.”

«I am disheartened – admits the mother of the 12 year old – I feel cheated. Now my son is scared, he no longer wants to take the bus home and the driver doesn’t even look at them when they get on in the morning. I hope that the school takes action – she concludes – so that what happened to us doesn’t happen to anyone else.”
