For a Piacenza team that has started beyond all expectations, the challenge of staying in the top positions of the group involves the ducal derby with Junior Parma. On Sunday at De Benedetti (game 1 at 11am – game 2 at 3pm) D’Auria’s red and whites try not to stop surprising in the presence of a Junior who is traditionally fearsome even if in reality not insurmountable. Two teams driven by the same philosophy based on the use of as many young people as possible will face each other in this umpteenth derby. On both sides some additions of experience and above all two expert and charismatic coaches. On the Parma side, the Italian-Argentine Angrisano has played for the Azzurri several times and, until a few years ago, was a star of the top league. So far for his team a double defeat on their debut against Sala Baganza and a draw last Sunday against Altopiano Seveso. An uninspiring journey even if some of the defeats were not that severe, legitimizing the predictable instincts of revenge with which the Junior will go down to De Benedetti. Piacenza will not have to rest on its laurels, least of all with this Junior, but rather trust in the good momentum of its pitching mound and the potential, only partially expressed, possessed by the attack. This round could start to shake up the rankings and losing pace would mean slipping into the catch-up areas too soon. Even if it is the dawn of the season it is better to gain ground early and stay at a safe distance from the hot areas.
