The busy program will begin with the enthronement of the arms on the main altar of the co-cathedral basilica Sunday 5 May during the 7pm mass, preceded by the rosary at 6.15pm. After the celebration, the restoration work carried out by the restorer Agnese Sasso on the votive aedicule of the Holy Martyrs located in Arco Pinoscia will be presented.
In preparation for the procession, from Tuesday 7th to Thursday 9th the triduum will be held in honor of the precious relics. At the end of the 7pm celebration, the triduum prayer will be recited and it will be possible to leave food for Caritas at the foot of the altar.
The focus of the program will be Friday 10 May, date of the first discovery of the relics by three who had received the Three Bisceglie Saints in a dream who indicated the place where their mortal remains were buried and in 1167 the bones of those who later became the Patron Saints were brought to light of the city of Bisceglie. On Friday 10th the relics are expected to arrive at the parish of Santa Caterina at 5pm, while at 19 will be held there solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by Monsignor Leonardo D’Ascenzo, bishop of the diocese of Trani-Barletta-Bisceglie, with all the city clergy (precisely for this reason no masses will be celebrated in the rest of the territory). At the end, at 8pm, the clergy and all the confraternities and associations will go in procession to the cathedral.
The last appointment of the program will be Sunday 12 May, on the Sunday of the Ascension of the Lord, there will be the blessing of the sea after the Eucharistic celebration at 7 pm. We will go in procession towards the sea gate, where there will be the traditional blessing of the sea with the relic of San Mauro. Upon returning to the Cathedral, the arms will be placed in the crypt.
