15-year-old stabs a classmate at the Leonardo da Vinci scientific high school in Reggio Calabria: a tragic episode that reveals deep cracks in school security, the victim is in intensive care

Reggio Calabria was shaken by a violent episode involving two students of the Leonardo da Vinci Scientific High School. A 15-year-old boy was stabbed during an argument with a classmate, bringing terror and concern to the school community and families.

According to initial information, the victim, a 15-year-old boy belonging to 2nd C, was attacked with a knife by his classmate during lessons. The attack caused serious injuries, causing internal bleeding which required immediate surgery. Currently, the victim is in intensive care at the emergency room, while doctors fight to save him.

The incident generated a rapid response from the authorities, with the Carabinieri promptly responding to the scene. The class was blocked and interrogations are being conducted to clarify the dynamics of the attack. Both the parents and relatives of the victim, who arrived on the scene, understandably expressed shock and anger. There were verbal clashes with the classmate responsible for the attack and with the professor, who was also injured during the riot, together with a janitor.

The young attacker was reported to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, while the local authorities, led by the Reggio Calabria Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, are conducting investigations to fully understand the dynamics and causes behind this tragic event. Deputy Angelo Gaglioti also went to the scene to supervise the investigations.

According to the reconstruction of the attack, the argument between the two students began during the school break, culminating in a violent confrontation during which the attacker pulled out a Swiss knife. Initially, the situation appeared to be under control, with only minor injuries reported to the victim. Once in the bathroom, the attacker renewed the attack, inflicting serious injuries, including one that punctured the young man’s lung.

The gravity of the situation led the victim’s father and other relatives to immediately go to the school, encountering difficulties in entering due to the panic and tension that had spread through the building. Only after a heated confrontation were they able to accompany the injured young man to hospital, while tensions with the attacker and the professor continued.

This tragic event highlights a dark page of the social reality of youth in the city of Reggio Calabria, highlighting the need to seriously address issues related to violence and safety in schools.
