ULast appointment for “Le parole della politica”, the training course for active citizenship created by the Cercasi un fine association and the San Ciro Parish of Foggia. Saturday 11 May 2024, at 4.30 pm, the philosophy and history teacher Giuseppe La Porta will keep a focus on the word “solidarity”.
Started last February under the authoritative guidance of Don Rocco D’Ambrosioprofessor of political philosophy at the Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome, “The Words of Politics” saw the interventions of illustrious speakers such as Luigi De Pinto, psychologist and emeritus professor of philosophy at the Pugliese Theological Faculty and lawyer Maria Teresa Coratella, thus contributing to a lively and constructive debate on the crucial issues of participation and legality.
With the participation of over 60 townspeople and citizens of Foggia, the process demonstrated the growing awareness of the importance of political education at a local level and generated renewed interest and active involvement in the community.
Inspired by the pedagogy of Don Lorenzo Milani, the teaching method involves the creation of thematic sessions of three hours each. The first part is dedicated to the teacher’s in-depth analysis, followed by discussions in small groups; the conclusion is developed in the assembly, encouraging active and participatory learning.
“This educational experience – explain the organizers – represented a precious opportunity to stimulate greater political awareness among the citizens of Foggia. We are grateful to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this initiative. The final focus, dedicated to solidarity, represents a significant moment to reflect on the foundations of social coexistence and the importance of mutual commitment in building a more cohesive and inclusive community”.
At the end of the meeting on May 11th, a certificate of participation will be issued to those who attended at least 70% of the meetings.
