It is the last act of the Serie D season, with the most important verdicts already written on a day that closes one of the most open and exciting championships in recent years and which brings the curtain down on the regular season and on a year lived intensely.
And on Sunday the spotlight will be on the last matches of the group, before the championship round, the useless play-offs and the salvation play-off which will send the protagonists of group F on holiday. And the calendar gives a Molise derby which represents the right and deserved final act of a championship which, for different objectives, seals the season of two protagonists of the group. For the Campobasso it is the final catwalk after a won and dominated championship that brings the Wolves back to the Lega Pro after two consecutive promotions and the feeling that the future of the rossoblù can give their fans even more beautiful football pages. In the derby against Termoli the “Molinari” will be sold-out with almost eight thousand people celebrating the well-deserved triumph of the team coached by Pergolizzi capable of lining up authentic battleships such as L’Aquila, Sambenedettese and Chieti, all set out to win a championship, never taken for granted, which now brings the team from the Molise capital back to a category certainly more suited to the coat of arms and ambitions of the rossoblù club. In Campobasso the Termoli which took center stage in the second round, protagonist of a journey, from January onwards, from first places in the standings. THE Giallorossi celebrate in the presence of their cousins a well-deserved salvation for what they did after the turning point, with high-level performances and positive results that allowed a comeback in the rankings from last place to mid-table. The arrival of Carnevale on the Termoli bench, the perfect synergy with the club, the targeted purchases in the repair market and the leap in quality of the locker room has allowed the club presided over by Montaquila to retain the D series – with fewer worries than last year – for the second consecutive season.
Which however it failed to do Vastogirardi who, after five excellent seasons in Serie D, returns to the regional borders. The excellent second part of the first round seemed to write another ending for the Alto Molise team capable of putting together positive results and positive performances until November before the slow and constant decline in the following months. Vastogirardi closes the championship by visiting Roma City, another team that started with promotion objectives but can partially save the season by reaching the play-offs. In case of victory, the Lazio team would get the better of Vigor Senigallia – tied in the standings – and would play the post-season against L’Aquila.
Among the very few verdicts still to be written, there is the starting grid for the play-offs with theAvezzano who wants to defend third place from the Samb assault. The Marsicans pay a visit to the Soraalready safe, for a match that will be played regularly with open doors after the Court of Appeal partially accepted the Lazio team’s appeal following the one-day disqualification of the pitch for the events following the match against Fano.
There Sambenedettese instead he plays the last Marche derby of the season, goes to visit the Vigor Senigallia for the challenge between the disappointed players in this championship finale. Samb, who were in the running for Serie C until March, have collapsed in the last few games and have not won in seven games where they have only put together three points. Vigor isn’t doing very well either, coming off three consecutive defeats which have effectively extinguished their ambitions of playing for the play-offs to repeat last year’s second place.

The current season, which started badly and ended worse, closes a cycle in Piedimonte where, however, the club will return to planning its return to Serie D.
As well as the Fano – one of the most renowned teams in the Serie D group – which returns to the regional borders after 57 years spent on the Serie C and Serie D pitches. The season also began in Fano under bad omens – club problems, changes of coach and results swings – ended badly for a club that will try everything, through a repechage request, to maintain the category. The Marche players will close the season within friendly walls against Monterotondo who instead will celebrate another salvation, the third in a row, strongly desired by the club and obtained with an incredible end to the season with five wins and a draw in the last seven matches.
If Monterotondo can celebrate salvation, theAtletico Ascoli they are enjoying a real seasonal exploit – third team in terms of points scored in the second round – with salvation already put on the back burner for several weeks and with a seventh place in the standings which would also leave the doors open for the play-offs. And while the club has already begun to prepare for the second consecutive Serie D season (the confirmation of sporting director Mario Marzetti is official and that of coach Seccardini is also almost obvious), the last act of the season is being staged at the “Don Mauro Bartolini” with the United Riccione guest interested in the challenge. The Romagna players are aiming for salvation – which will necessarily go through the play-outs – and need a point to maintain the possibility of placing themselves in the standings ahead of Tivoli.
