Friuli’s greeting to Gianpietro Benedetti.

After the funeral, celebrated privatelyand the city mourning proclaimed for yesterday in Buttrio, all of Friuli is preparing to greet the engineer Gianpietro Benedettiwith a collective ceremony during which the community will gather to remember his life and the great contribution he made to the development of this region.

Saturday 4 Mayat 5pm, in the Cathedral of Udine, therefore, the “Ceremony of the Word”, chaired by Monsignor Luciano Nobile. The event will be an opportunity for all those who have known and worked with Benedetti di remember and honor his memory. In addition to family and friends, institutional, religious and business representatives will also take part they will share memories and testimonies of Benedetti’s impact on Friuli and beyond. Among the first to speak will be Giacomo Mareschi Danieli, CEO of the Danieli Group, and Camilla Benedetti, vice president of the group and daughter of the engineer.

Benedetti passed away on Sunday 28 April, at the age of 81. Prominent figure in the industrial panorama Italian and international, Benedetti was the president of one of the pillars of the Friuli Venezia Giulia economy, the Danieli Group, known for its leadership in the design and construction of steel plants. Closely linked to the Friulian territory, he has always stood out for his own too patronage for the many interventions of which he was the promoter, in Udine and beyond, which contributed and recover and enhance the heritage Friulian architectural historian.
