Umbria launches financing for photovoltaic systems in public buildings

Umbria initiates financing – The Regional Council of Umbria has taken concrete steps towards the energy transition with the approval of a financing plan for the installation of photovoltaic systems and systems of energy storage on public buildings, confirming a total investment of 8,825,000 euros for this purpose. This initiative is part of a broader program that aims to make the region a leader in sustainable energy by reducing energy consumption and increasing production from renewable sources.

In addition, Umbria has planned the activation of energy efficiency interventions, thanks to a further allocation of 8,875,000 euros, intended to improve the thermal insulation of public buildings, replace old air conditioning systems and install new solar thermal systems and photovoltaic. These interventions aim to reduce the overall energy consumption of public buildings, and are an integral part of the regional strategy for a more efficient use of energy resources.

Furthermore, the Council, come on proposal of the Councilor for the Environment, approved the technical-economic evaluation criteria for the preparation of a Program of regional interest, which provides for a financial allocation of 13,500,000 euros. This program does will concentrate on two main types of interventions, both with a minimum cost of 200,000 euros: the strengthening of public infrastructures for the management and recycling of waste and the modernization of public plants for the treatment of urban waste, with a particular focus on the recovery of secondary materials from non-hazardous waste.

Particular attention will be paid revolt to investments that favor the treatment and recovery of paper, textiles and plastic materials, identifying solutions that significantly increase the percentage of recovery compared to the current situation. This includes the adoption of advanced technologies that facilitate the selection and grouping of homogeneous materials, improving both the quality and quantity of recycled material.
