After coming up short against No. 9 Florida, Florida State softball will now make one final regular season series. Traveling to New York, the Seminoles will make the Syracuse Orange. If the ‘Noles can secure the sweep, they will be the 2024 ACC Softball regular season champions.
Overall, Syracuse is 26-21, and 7-14 in the ACC. They began conference play by being swept by Duke, before taking their bye week to play out of conference. Since then they have dropped series to Virginia, Boston College, Clemson, Pitt, and taken series against Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech.
The Orange pitching staff mostly rely on their two aces, led by Lindsey Hendrix. In a team leading 90.2 innings, Hendrix is 11-3 with a 2.39 ERA. 2023 was the last time FSU and Syracuse faced off, with the two teams playing four times, one for a three game series and one in the ACC tournament. En route to another tournament title, FSU took a 4-1 victory over the Orange. Makenna Reid got the win, with Kathryn Sandercock notching the save.
