The Lega Serie A, in collaboration with the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Municipality of Parma, presents the first edition of the “Serie A Festival” – scheduled for 7-8-9 June 2024 in the Emilian city – to talk about the beauty and the uniqueness of the top Italian football championship. The initiative was illustrated this morning in the Council Room of the Municipality of Parma in the presence of the Mayor of the city Michele Guerra, the Head of the Political Secretariat of the Presidency of the Emilia-Romagna Region Giammaria Manghi, the President of the Lega Serie A Lorenzo Casini and the ‘Sports Councilor of the Municipality of Parma Marco Bosi. Luca Martines, Corporate Managing Director of Parma Calcio, and Giacomo Malmesi, member of the Board of Directors of Iren spa, also spoke. The event will be itinerant and will take place entirely in the heart of the city of Parma, within prestigious venues rich in history such as the Farnese Theatre, the Regio Theatre, the Governor’s Palace and the San Paolo Laboratory, which will act as splendid setting for three days of meetings and workshops focused on Serie A football. For the occasion, Parma will dress up to welcome all the main stakeholders of the sector, some of the greatest champions, coaches, managers who have written the history of our Campionato, the directors of the main Italian newspapers that cover sports, as well as influencers loved by young people, social media experts and actors and singers who are great football fans and fans. The Mayor of Parma Michele Guerra: “We are very happy to present the Serie A Festival in Parma. There will be three days in which to discuss the great challenges of sport. The Lega Serie A is doing a very important job. Parma will host well-known names in football for a moment that promises to be truly unique for the city. The Serie A Festival could not have come at a better time, after Parma Calcio also returned to the top flight: a truly extraordinary coincidence.

This press conference ideally becomes part of the celebrations linked to this exceptional event. Parma has a very deep-rooted football culture and the widespread enthusiasm for the return to Serie A is testimony to this. I would add that I am doubly happy since the Serie A Festival will take place in places that are symbolic of Parma’s culture. Special thanks go to the Emilia-Romagna Region for its strong and convinced support for sport and Iren”. The Head of the Political Secretariat of the Presidency of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Giammaria Manghi: “The first edition of the Serie A Festival is a premier of great value. It combines sporting passion linked to the world of football with the theme of promoting the territory. Parma, in fact, is a city with great football traditions but, at the same time, also cultural and food and wine traditions. Certainly the Serie A Festival will contribute to making its territory more attractive with positive repercussions also in the tourism sector. The fact that Parma Calcio has found Serie A again is a further positive element that makes this proposal even more effervescent.” The President of the Lega Serie A, Lorenzo Casini: “The Lega Serie A has long been committed to promoting the fundamental social and educational role that football can play, by virtue of its extraordinary capacity for attraction and collective involvement. The initiative we are presenting today fits precisely into this perspective, since the first edition of the Lega Serie A Festival aims to be an opportunity for dialogue with the public on all those aspects, not just purely sporting, which make football that social phenomenon that we all know and, at the same time, intends to encourage the sharing of reflections and ideas on the future of this wonderful sport”.

The Sports Councilor of the Municipality of Parma, Marco Bosi: “We are very proud that Parma is the city chosen for the first Football Festival. This conference falls at a particularly euphoric moment for the promotion of our team to Serie A. It is a wind of great prestige with important repercussions in terms of visibility for our territory. We have started a journey together with the Emilia Romagna Region with a collaboration that has been going on for some years for the creation of major sporting events to bring people closer to sport on the one hand and, on the other, to promote our territory by creating an important spin-off for the city and the territory itself”. The Executive President of the Iren Group, Luca Dal Fabbro: “Iren has always supported the territories in which it operates by particularly promoting events that focus on culture and sport because they constitute unrepeatable opportunities to promote positive values. Sport in particular is a powerful tool for engaging people of all ages and backgrounds, encouraging inclusion and active participation. This is why we have chosen to support the Serie A Festival, an initiative that could not come at a better time, given the current moment of great joy for the results achieved by the city’s team.” The opening event will be held on Friday 7 June at 3pm, followed by, among others, the meeting of the Association of European Leagues, with a great show at the Farnese Theater which will conclude the evening of the inaugural day. On Saturday, many in-depth meetings and panels, the proceedings will open at 9.30 am and will last until 7 pm, in the evening Gala Dinner at the Voltoni del Guazzatoio. The Festival will close on Sunday 9 June, with the last workshops and lunch at the San Paolo Laboratory.
