Sunday 16 June from 7am to 10pm at the same time as the election of the foreign deputy municipal councilor, the election of the 4 foreign (non-EU) representatives of the Migrants Council will also take place, the regulation of which was approved by resolution of the Municipal Council no. 18 of 27 February 2020.

Adult foreign citizens who have not been convicted of a criminal offense, are residents in the municipality of Mazara del Vallo and have a valid residence permit can be candidates.

As regards those elected, they must belong to at least three different nationalities; where possible, one of the 4 must be identified among the members of the minority sex (representing men and women). Furthermore, foreigners residing in Mazara del Vallo with dual citizenship (Italian and foreign) can also vote and be elected.

In addition to the 4 representatives who will be elected in the consultation on 16 June, the Migrants’ Council must be made up of the Mayor or delegated Councillor, the president of the Social Affairs Council Commission or his delegate, a representative of educational institutions where the presence of non-EU students, by a delegate from the Diocese of Mazara and by a representative elected by associations, organizations or lay bodies operating in the field of welcoming migrants.

Applications to be filled out on the attached form must be submitted from Monday 6 May until 2pm on Monday 27 May.
