“What happened to the 80 million euros allocated by Cipe to Latina to carry out the mass transport project between Latina and Latina Scalo?”: at the question time relating to the drafting of the revision project compared to the sadly wrecked one of the old light metro of surface, presented by the LBC council group, was answered by the Councilor for Transport and Mobility Gianluca Di Cocco. A report that evidently did not satisfy the opposition councilors of Latina Bene Comune.

“Eighty million euros from CIPE are destined for Latina and for all intents and purposes still included in the most important budget documents of the institution. The previous administration – explains Lbc group leader Dario Bellini – had intercepted a further 400 thousand euros intended precisely for the revision of the old project to create an alternative connection infrastructure. In our question we asked for an update given that, almost a year after the current administration took office, the only act produced on the subject was the change of the Rup. From the words of councilor Di Cocco, however, it is clear not only that the drafting of the project is still a long way off, but that the Municipality seems to be referring to a new line of ministerial financing.

At this point we can only ask ourselves if these 80 million euros tied up for Latina still exist or if this is another loan lost due to the inertia of the Celentano administration. If that were the case, it would be very serious. And equally serious – adds Bellini – is that Councilor Di Cocco does not know that a project of this magnitude must be subjected to the widest possible sharing of political forces and citizens, other than approval only by the Council as he responded in today’s question ”.

The other question time that was discussed yesterday with councilor Di Cocco was related to the pedestrian bridges that connect the Oasi Verde Susetta Guerrini park, one of which, the one in Q5, was the subject of works costing 80 thousand euros during the past administration and returned to citizenship; the other, in Q4, still closed as of 2021, unused and now damaged. LBC asked to know the updated timetable of the extraordinary maintenance works on the pedestrian path of the Q4 district and the funds to be used for the interventions, in addition to the times expected for the ordinary maintenance of the already reopened bridge. “The response received can only sadden us – explains councilor Floriana Coletta on behalf of the Latina Bene Comune council group –. In fact, we learn that the Mobility and Transport service has only 2,500 euros available, despite the fact that councilor Muzio, in a recent meeting with citizens in the Q4 and Q5 districts, had announced that the funds for the restoration of the bridge were already available. People must be spoken to clearly and the truth must be told. If the majority had accepted an amendment to the budget for 100 thousand euros presented by us, with favorable technical and accounting opinions, perhaps we would have found ourselves in a position to be able to soon inaugurate a restored bridge instead of having to wait for the availability of a variation requested by the majority for 130 thousand euros and a further 60 days to implement the interventions. We would have had the necessary funds to take care of a common good, the same one that the center-right had focused on during the Coletta administration by presenting a 50,000 euro amendment, which was promptly accepted.”
