It took place this morning at Palazzo Zanca, in the presence of the mayor Federico Basile and the general manager Except Puccio the handover between the outgoing Commander Maurizio Cannavò and the new commander of the Messina Municipal Police force Giovanni Giardina. During the short meeting the new Commander Giardina signed the employment contract, while Dr. Cannavò followed up on the obligations of revocation of his consent, the continuation of the assumption of the role of director of the Municipal Police Force of the Municipality of Messina, a renunciation expressed last January 26, in the expectation of remaining in service until the appointment of the new manager. The Mayor and the General Director wished Dr. Cannavò a good continuation of his profession, and they wished the new commander Giardina good luck in his work in order to continue to achieve important objectives for the City in the sector.

“This change, on the sidelines of the recruitment notice for 100 municipal police officers, marks a decisive step towards some of the objectives of the municipal administration’s mandate program such as the reorganization of the municipal structure with the strengthening of the Command in order to guarantee the better control of the territory and traffic”, commented Mayor Basile.
