Palermo, restyling work begins at the Neurology of Villa Sofia

PALERMO – Extraordinary maintenance work has begun on the premises of the complex Neurology and Stroke Unit, at the “Villa Sofia” hospital. To guarantee a specialized and targeted approach to the specific needs of the Neurology and Stroke Unit operational unit, the project was drawn up by the staff of the “Technical Service” UOC (complex operational unit) who will also be responsible for the management of the works .

“The works – explains engineer Vincenzo Nicastri, director of the Technical Service – include interventions aimed at optimizing and modernizing the environment of the Neurology operational unit, to ensure a progressive increase in quality and safety standards.

In particular, we will proceed with the modernization and redevelopment of the toilets dedicated to the hospitalization areas and a new room dedicated to medicine will also be created for better management and accessibility to medical instruments and materials.

Finally, thanks to the merger of some rooms, the creation of a new Stroke Unit room is expected, with the aim of improving the management of critical neurological cases, as well as the times of intervention and assistance”.

The work is expected to be completed by the end of May. Satisfaction was expressed by the extraordinary commissioner of the hospital Roberto Colletti.
