An event that is a moment of joy, flowers and colors for the whole city.”
With these words the mayor Chiara Frontini accompanied the ribbon cutting on May 1st in Piazza del Gesù, inaugurating the new era of San Pellegrino in fiore. An event that until Sunday 5th presents the squares of the monumental district “dressed” and enhanced by geometric architecture, created in a horticultural key, inspired by medieval shapes and designs.
The first citizen made a point of thanking the institutional partners – Province, Chamber of Commerce, Carivit Foundation, Unitus – “for their contribution and collaboration which have given rise to a very rare synergy”.
Present at the very well attended inaugural ceremony were, among others, the prefect Gennaro Capo, the bishop Orazio Francesco Piazza, the councilor Francesco Ciarlanti representing Palazzo Gentili, the president Domenico Merlani and the general secretary of the chamber of commerce Francesco Monzillo, the deputy Mauro Rotelli, the regional councilors Daniele Sabatini, Giulio Zelli and Marietta Tidei as well as the council and the entire municipal council of Viterbo. And obviously the designer Raffaele Ascenzi.
Short ceremony and then proceed with the walk to admire the floral arrangements.
The sound of the clarions and the roll of the drums of the musicians and the group of flag-wavers announced to the population the approach of the procession of the authorities in the various squares.
Among other things, the inauguration was enjoyed by a vast audience of the public, with many tourists choosing Viterbo as the destination in which to spend the long weekend on May 1st.
In this case our city was certainly able to offer a “face”! festive and flowery.
And as the mayor Frontini commented: «Long live San Pellegrino in fiore. Long live Viterbo.”
