A research carried out by the National Institute of Statistics investigated the state of happiness of Italians in their free time. The result? One in ten Apulians “is sad”. According to Istat’s «Bes» (well-being, fair and sustainable) report, only 2.6% of Apulian people are satisfied with their state of mind.
The people of Puglia would be among the unhappiest in the world.Italy under various economic and social aspects. 13.3% of all those interviewed say they are somewhat or very unhappy with their conditions. Those who are very happy would be 44%. The average vote that the people of Puglia would assign to their existence is 7.1%, just a hair above Campania which would even do worse.
The Istat report paints a critical picture for the whole of Italy where there is less well-being than the European Union average and in Puglia there is less than the national average. A situation that worsens especially with regard to some indicators linked to education and training, work and life balance, life expectancy and health.
