Musical Saturdays, concerts continue from the balcony of Rossini’s house

02/05/2024 – The appointments with Playlist Rossini continue on Saturday 4 May at 6.30 pm. A year-long concert, a project created by the Rossini Opera Festival on the occasion of Pesaro, Italian Capital of Culture 2024.

It is presented again every Saturday the entire Rossini opera repertoire with a special series of 39 concerts from the balcony of Gioachino Rossini’s birthplace, each dedicated to an opera by Rossini, performed by former students of the Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda”.

The protagonist singers of the concert will be Marta Pluda (mezzo-soprano) and Francesco Auriemma (baritone), accompanied by pianist Donatella Dorsi. Excerpts from theItalian in Algiersa playful drama in two acts with a libretto by Angelo Anelli performed for the first time at the Teatro San Benedetto in Venice on 22 May 1813.

Marta Pluda will sing Isabella’s Cavatina «Cruda Sorte!», while Francesco Auriemma will close with Taddeo’s Aria «Ho a great weight on my head». In the middle, the Isabella-Taddeo Duet «Ai capricci della fate».

The project is carried out in collaboration with the Municipality of Pesaro, the Pescheria Foundation, the Rossini Foundation and the G. Rossini Symphony Orchestra.
