Emergency day for the technicians of the Province of La Spezia who have been busy since dawn to resolve a series of complex situations which have affected some roads throughout the provincial territory, with the latest episode occurring just before 8pm.
In fact, it was in the evening that the notice arrived of the closure of the provincial road SP 8 of Calice al Cornoviglio, in the area between Usurana and the climb to the village of Calice, due to a landslide of rocks.
An inspection is scheduled for tomorrow morning to evaluate the conditions of the slope both along the SP 8 where the stones fell and on the side along the Borseda. The town of Calice can however be reached from the municipal road which connects to Casoni or via the road which goes towards the Lunigiana side.
In addition to this latest landslide, there were two situations during the day that created greater inconvenience for the inhabitants and which continued over time, one in Vezzano and the other in La Spezia.
In the area of the municipality of Vezzano Ligure, in the Beverone area, a landslide occurred which affected the provincial road SP 16. The technical staff of the institution, after an initial intervention, assessed the safety condition of the slope affected by the The event was closed in both directions.
In the next few days, in coordination with the Municipality of Vezzano Ligure, the general situation of the site will be assessed and an intervention plan planned.
However, after the works carried out during the day together with the staff of the Municipality of La Spezia, the safety conditions along the Provincial Road SP530 of Porto Venere, which had been affected since the early hours of the morning by an anomalous flooding in the area between Fabiano and Acquasanta, have improved. , in the territory of the municipality of La Spezia. The road was closed until 5.30pm, with spot reopenings and with most of the traffic diverted within the Naval Base of the Navy. The situation improved after a complex technical intervention which involved a drainage channel which from the same road reaches the sea through an underground path inside the arsenal. Work is still underway, in coordination with the Municipality of La Spezia which has guaranteed extraordinary support of personnel, to definitively resolve the problem encountered. In the next few days, also in this case, a program of interventions to be carried out will be evaluated, always in agreement with the Municipality.
The situation that had affected the Provincial Road SP43 of Levanto in the early morning has been resolved, just as a dozen other similar problems have been managed. Also in this case, as in similar situations, the Authority’s technicians intervened to remove debris, clear ditches, cut trees and secure some points at risk. In any case, it was not necessary to close roads or permanently limit traffic. beyond the time necessary for the intervention.
The President of the Province, Pierluigi Peracchini, thanked the staff of the institution who will also be busy in the next few hours to ensure further interventions and monitoring of the territory, he also expressed gratitude to the military authorities of the Navy who, in collaboration with the Civil Protection and the local police of the Municipality of La Spezia, allowed traffic to be diverted within the Naval Base, resolving a dangerous and uncomfortable situation that had occurred along the SP530, which is the only road network that exists in the western part of the La Spezia gulf.
