After the protests to the general Roberto Vannacci, in the evening Matteo Salvini was also challenged in Livorno in a demonstration announced a few days ago against the presentation of the deputy prime minister’s book. Those who would like to give licenses of democracy have for some time now been demonstrating that they are against any form of free expression, even going so far as to try to censor the books of those who they do not consider “right”. A distortion of the concept of democracy which is leading public debate to drift in our country, where groups of a few claim the right to be able to tell everyone what they should say, do and think.
“Salvini be careful, in Livorno the wind still whistles“, we read on the banner that opens a small procession of a few daredevils who brave the fury of a storm to challenge the vice-premier who is engaged in the presentation of his book “Controvento” in the “Quattro mori” cinema theater in Livorno. “Salvini, in addition to having been a supporter of racist, authoritarian and discriminatory policies (remember the Salvini decree, or the case of the Sea Watch), carries forward the same slogans that were exploited during the darkest period of our history, the regime fascist: God, Fatherland and family“, we read in the poster with which Livorno Antifascist Action announced the event.
In recent days, however, they have been torn and smeared the posters announcing the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport in the city for the presentation. With a note, Luca Baroncini, regional secretary of the Tuscany League; the League MEP Susanna Ceccardi; the Tuscan parliamentarians of the League Manfredi Potenti, Andrea Barabotti, Simone Billi, Claudio Borghi, Elisa Montemagni, Tiziana Nisini and Edoardo Ziello; and the regional councilors of the League Elena Meini, Massimiliano Baldini, Luciana Bartolini, Marco Casucci, Giovanni Galli and Marco Landi condemned the incident.
In reference to the demonstration, they write, “we are pleased to fully share the exemplary response given by the management of the Labronico theater: ‘Fight with passion, but always be tolerant, I am ready to fight until the price of my life so that your idea can always and freely be expressed (Sandro Pertini) ‘“. Therefore, they conclude, “whoever demonstrates in the square this evening will not be anti-fascist, but rather will demonstrate that they are totally anti-fascist antidemocratic and intolerant towards the freedoms of others, such as the freedom, very normal for us, of presenting a book“
