The chamber of instruction of the Court of Appeal of Grenoble has granted the extradition to Italy of Sohaib Teima, the twenty-one-year-old Italian-Egyptian suspected of the murder of his partner, the twenty-two-year-old Frenchwoman Auriane Nathalie Laisne found dead in a small church in Aosta.

Yes toextradition to Italy by Sohaib Teima, the twenty-one-year-old Italian-Egyptian from Fermo suspected of the murder of his partner, the twenty-two-year-old Frenchwoman Auriane Nathalie Laisne, found dead last April 5th in a small ruined church above La Sallein the Aosta Valley.

The decision of the chambre d’instruction of the Court of Appeal of Grenoble, France, which granted the young man’s extradition, was expected today. The young man’s Italian lawyer, Lucia Lupi, confirmed the news to Ansa.

To ask the delivery of the young man from the Marche it was the Aosta prosecutor’s office with a European arrest warrant. According to investigators, Sohaib Teima killed Auriane Nathalie Laisne towards the end of March, probably between the 26th and 27th. Then he returned to France, where he was arrested. “It is a classic femicide which was determined by a motive of possession and annulment of the victim’s will,” said the Aosta prosecutor, taking stock of the investigations into the murder of the young Frenchwoman.

Since the day of his arrest the twenty-one year old has always denied the accusations reiterating his innocence. He also did so during the last hearing held at the Grenoble Court of Appeal, where the young man is currently detained, during which he had denied having killed the girl and had also asked to be extradited to Italy . The young man had limited himself to saying not having violated the approach ban to Auriane (who had previously reported him for mistreatment) because she allegedly lied to him by saying that she had withdrawn the complaint. “I have always respected the ban but she told me she had withdrawn the complaint, which is why we were together.”

Teima is accused by the Aosta prosecutor’s office of the murder of Auriane Leisne and, previously, of domestic abuse against the girl. On this last issue, he will be judged tomorrow by the French court. At tomorrow’s hearing in Grénoble the young man will have to appear in court and it is also possible that the sentence will not be pronounced on the same day. The times for returning to Italy, therefore, are not known at the moment.
