The fourth edition of the “Festa dei Popoli 2024 – Different colors for a single tent” is back, scheduled in Fano on Saturday 25 May, but which includes a series of corollary activities in the month of May. This initiative is promoted by the Migrants Office of the diocese of Fano-Fossombrone-Cagli-Pergola with the collaboration of the diocesan Caritas.
We start on Friday 3 May with the meeting together with the immigration lawyer Paola Graziosi entitled “Unaccompanied foreign minors: does the reception system work? Legislative criticalities and opportunities” in the Sala della Cultura in via Arco d’Augusto 81 at 9pm. It continues on Saturday 11 May, from 3pm to 7pm, at the Don Orione Institute with a workshop for a mixed group of 15 participants aged 12 to 18 edited by director Laura Fratini, inspired by the book “In the sea there are crocodiles” by Fabio Geda.
On Saturday 18 May, however, the “2nd Barbara Zenobi Memorial” will take place which includes the five-a-side football match at the Palextra fields and the beach volleyball tournament at the Lido Verde fields in collaboration with the Csi and the “Allarghiamo gli Orizzonti” association .
The big event is scheduled for Saturday 25 May, from 3.30 pm to 11 pm, with the final moment of the Festa dei Popoli 2024 at the Lido tensile structure. At 3.30 pm the stands of the ethnic communities will open which will see the display of fabrics and products together with the organization of activities to immerse oneself in cultural customs and traditions. After the awards ceremony of the sports tournaments and the institutional greeting from the bishop of Fano-Fossombrone-Cagli-Pergola, Msgr. Andrea Andreozzi, there will be a moment of discussion entitled “Unaccompanied foreign minors” with the testimonies of Mohamed Kenawi, director of the docufilm “The dream of minors”, Lassina Doumbia, unaccompanied minor and today cultural mediator, and Mamadou Kovassi, the whose story is present in the film “Io Capitano” by Matteo Garrone. From 7pm we will have dinner with ethnic gastronomy followed by songs and dances by the ethnic communities.
