“Second objective: the primacy of the person in the integration of social and health services: more territorial medicine and more community homes in Cremona. The choice of the Lombardy Region to build a new functional and technologically advanced hospital arises from the need to adapt our healthcare system to the growing and diversified needs of care. We want medical and healthcare staff to be able to work in a welcoming and functional place. I asked President Fontana to listen to all those citizens who created the committee for the protection of the old hospital”, underlined Portesani forcefully.
“We must accelerate the action of integration between the health and social systems. Especially in older people, health needs are accompanied by social needs. We need an integrated response, personalized services, more doctors and social workers in the area. Cremona today has only one Community House: too little for a city of over 70,000 inhabitants. We ask to increase the number and capacity of these places of care, creating at least two more community homes and another community hospital”, said the centre-right candidate.
“Third objective: CremonaFiere strategic asset for the economic development of Cremona and southern Lombardy. CremonaFiere has profitably begun a process of expanding the calendar and involving the territory. The current portfolio of events consists of 43 events, 3 of which are international. CremonaFiere advocates an even stronger collaboration with the Lombardy Region by proposing two lines of intervention: the first to support the exhibition proposal and the second infrastructural and synergistic. CremonaFiere could equip itself with one modular structure (LED wall screens, audio/video system, modular soundproof walls and seats) that can be used to host conferences and corporate events with a capacity of 1,000 to 3,000 visitors”.
“Fourth objective: encourage training activities in university and professional courses. To respond more promptly to the requests of businesses and the economic world, it is necessary to integrate the higher education proposal by giving space to professional training courses (the city’s CFP) within the school orientation activities. In relation to post-diploma courses, the new council will have to lay the foundations only for the promotion of university education, but also of the ITS courses already present in the city (mechatronics). To give greater representativeness to the training needs of Cremonese companies, we intend to start a process of bringing together the interlocutors necessary for the governance of a new ITS Foundation for the agrifood sector”.
“Fifth objective: sport is a positive factor for growth and education. Sports facilities. We would need new gyms and new facilities, but we certainly need to adapt and modernize the existing but dated structures. Furthermore, it is necessary to open a serious discussion on thecurrent sports hall of Cremona which was built 42 years ago and needs a heavy restyling operation if not even to be rebuilt. The technicians will tell us what the best solution will be, but our desire is to seriously evaluate the possibility of creating a new one. I asked Fontana to be at our side to support us in this strategic objective too.”
