During the procession of about thirty young people in Naples to protest against the presence of Roberto Vannacci, there were clashes with the police in riot gear. The demonstrators tried to overcome the barriers and the police cordon that protected the area where Vannacci presented his book. They released water balloons and hit officers’ shields with flag poles. The police responded with the use of batons, but no injuries were reported. Currently, the two groups are in confrontation in via Nazario Sauro. After moments of conflict, the demonstrators protesting against Vannacci continue to face each other at a distance with the police cordon blocking their access to the area where the League candidate will present his latest book this afternoon. The activists keep their distance from the officers, singing chants and shouting slogans.

Zaia: I will vote for a Venetian
«Vannacci on the list? No battle. The general, as he likes to be called, is not the leader of the list but the party has made choices”: this is how the president of Veneto, Luca Zaia, comments, who however says he disagrees with some of Vannacci’s statements. “I don’t agree – he notes – with the proposal of separate classes and the concept of Mussolini as a statesman.” He then reminds him that the general is an independent candidate, he is not with the League. «Will I vote for him? I would feel like a traitor – he concludes – not to vote for a Venetian.”
