The statements of the mayor of Massa regarding the possible reopening of the EVAM fountain are not convincing Elisa Giovannellirepresentative of the M5S territorial group of Massa, who expresses perplexity and requests clarification: “We are not satisfied with the mayor’s declarations. He confirms that there are unspecified sanitization problems concerning the old pipes. We are not even convinced by the announced expenditure; we are waiting a detailed estimate to give our evaluations.” Giovannelli underlines regarding this decision: “It is however a question of political will, and this will be what we expect to hear when Mayor Persiani responds in the city council to the question of the Councilor Bennati.”Access to water is seen as a fundamental right by the 5 Star Movement, and the representative reiterates the urgency of this need: “Certainly, the citizens of Massa want the fountain to reopen immediately. As for how, it’s up to this administration will communicate it.”
The collection of signatures for the reopening continues
The M5S does not stop and continues its mobilization: on Saturday 4 May, at the San Carlo fountain, the activists of the 5 Star Movement will be present to continue collecting memberships. “Water is a right and we want to exercise it,” concludes Giovannelli, inviting the community to participate in large numbers.
