The Sardinia Region will participate, from 6 to 9 May, in the Arabian Travel Market, the most important international fair dedicated to inbound and outbound tourism in the United Arab Emirates, which takes place at the Dubai World Trade Center.
For Sardinia it will be an important opportunity to present itself to a potential new expanding market, which promises to be strategic for the coming tourist seasons also thanks to the Olbia-Dubai route, inaugurated last year, operated by the airline flydubai of the Emirates group, which will be operational again every Tuesday and Saturday from 15 June to 31 August 2024.
The direct flight will be presented in a press conference at the Arabian Travel Market, in which the regional councilor for Tourism Franco Cuccureddu will speak together with Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President Commercial Operations flydubai, and Mario Garau and Giovanna Loriga, director and deputy commercial director respectively Aviation and marketing of Olbia airport.
“It is the first fair in which I participate as a councilor – declares Cuccureddu – and I am confident that it can be an opportunity to approach an interesting new market: I am convinced that the target that we will be able to intercept on this occasion, with the activation of the new route, activated experimentally already last summer, could be particularly important for tourism on our island.
The objective is to work as best as possible on our tourism products, which can meet the needs of the Emirati public, in terms of quality and variety.
We thank flydubai for having planned this direct intercontinental connection and we hope that in the future we can further expand the offer of direct scheduled flights with countries outside the European Union, in terms of frequency, destinations and Sardinian airports involved”.
