May 2, 2024 (changed at 2:01 pm)

Palermo will go into training camp from today 2 May at least until Sunday 5 May, the day of the match at Barbera at 4.15pm against Ascoli. The club’s decision came after the second defeat in a row against Spezia (1-0, preceded by the 1-2 against Reggiana) in an attempt to regroup the team in view of the last two championship matches against Ascoli and Sudtirol.

Palermo situation

The club’s objective is to defend their place in the playoffs of the Serie B championship which sees the Rosanero currently sixth, chased by Sampdoria, Brescia, Sudtirol and Reggiana, respectively 3, 4 and 6 points behind, with the Trentino and Emilians tied . Since the Rosanero club decided to sack coach Eugenio Corini to entrust the Palermo bench to Michele Mignani, the team has put together three draws against Sampdoria, Cosenza and Parma and two defeats against Reggiana and Spezia.
