The Risk Monitoring Functional Center of the Lombardy region issued today, May 2, 2024a new yellow code weather alert for hydrogeological risk and thunderstorms. “Lombardy continues to be affected by a depression circulation which causes unstable atmospheric conditions,” we read in the bulletin “The disturbed pulse, with at times intense rainfall, has been affecting the region since yesterday 01/05. At the moment, rainfall, including thunderstorms, is starting to affect the Pavia area, moving in the next few hours towards the remaining lowland areas and subsequently further north to affect the pre-Alpine and Alpine areas. At the end of this passage, in the late afternoon (from around 4pm), it will be possible for scattered showers to develop on the plain followed by residual light rain, which may persist locally even in the evening, mainly on the plain and Pre-Alps. Wind of variable direction, mostly weak but with possible temporary reinforcements during the passage of the disturbed impulses with occasional gusts possible up to 55 km/h. Exhaustion of the phenomena expected between late afternoon and early evening“.
During the entire day of tomorrow 3 May “light rain or showers will still be possible, more likely in the afternoon and evening in the High Plains and Pre-Alps“.
