The Taste Village turns ten. Ten candles per event which has become a point of reference for all the people of Bari. Thirty food stands with menus selected by the “Mordi La Puglia” network and 6 Apulian craft breweries selected by the Puglia Craft Beer network, with over 50 styles of beers paired and rotated. Furthermore, the “Villaggio del gusto” award was established, named this year after the figure of Pino Tulipani, the First Guarantor of the Rights of People with Disabilities in the Puglia Region who passed away in 2020. The event, promoted by the “DE GUSTIBUS” Association VITAE” of Bari, in collaboration with CNA Metropolitan Area of Bari was born in 2014 from an idea by Mimmo Loiacono as a promotion of the Apulian territory through the quality of Puglia’s craft beer and local street gastronomy, all protagonists called to enrich a party of gastronomy “made in the South” with the aim of recovering and enhancing the vocation of a territory rich in traditional, simple, natural and genuine recipes with respect for the environment, education on taste and food culture.
The event will be in its 10th year in 2024, confirming itself as one of the most important in Southern Italy in the world of beer and street food. The “Villaggio del Gusto 2024 – Cab Edition” will take place over 7 days from 6 to 12 May. In particular, from 6 to 9 May the now consolidated event linked to traditional gastronomy and craft beer from Puglia will take place on the occasion of the Feast of San Nicola, while from 10 to 12 May the “Villaggio del Gusto” will be transformed into the “Villaggio del Giusto” and, in collaboration and synergy with the LeZZanZZare association and other associations active in the growth and development of social issues, will organize a series of social inclusion events including:
* Award ceremony for craft breweries active in social inclusion processes
* Awarding of Food & Beverage activities active for social purposes
* Awarding of authorities and personalities active in the social world
* “See what you drink” – Blind tastings with blind sommeliers and blindfolded audiences
* “Feel that you are eating” – Lessons in LIS (Sign Language) dedicated to gastronomic pairings
* Concerts and DJ sets with disabled artists
For this occasion, the “Villaggio del Giusto” award was established, named this year after the figure of Pino Tulipani, First Guarantor of the Rights of People with Disabilities of the Puglia Region who passed away in 2020, an active volunteer in favor of people suffering from autism, mental disorders and behavioral and protagonist of numerous battles in defense of society and the weakest people.

The “Villaggio del Gusto 2024 – CAB Edition” will see the presence of 30 food stands with menus selected by the “Mordi La Puglia” network and 6 Apulian craft breweries selected by the Artisan Beer of Puglia network, with over 50 styles of beers in combination and in rotation. To tickle the most demanding palates there will be among the novelties of the gastronomic proposals the spaghetti all’assassina, the Sicilian gourmet arancini, the Neapolitan rotisserie and pastry shop, the real Abruzzo kebabs combined with the Ascoli olives, the pittule and pasticciotti from Lecce, the Lucanian strazzata, ranging from Podolian burgers to caciocavallo hanged with pulled pork, Norcia and Calabrian cured meats, fried chicken and nougats from Gallipoli, Sicilian pistachio in all its variations, in addition to the classic proposals of the Villaggio del Gusto such as panzerotti from Bari, sgagliozze, focaccia from Bari and Altamura, roasted octopus but also sandwiches with roasted meats raised in Puglia, bombette and zampina, fried chips and fish&chips from Galatina, sandwiches with porchetta from Grumo Appula, gourmet sandwiches stuffed with artisanal cured meats and cheeses local dishes, the Tette di Venere di Noci, the handmade Apulian taralli and the typical dishes of Bari cuisine. This year there will also be a stand entirely dedicated to gluten-free products including a gluten-free Craft Beer from Puglia.
