Baronissi. Homophobic attack in Salerno, Anna Petta: “Solidarity with our fellow citizen Samir”

The community of Baronissi is shocked to learn the news of the attack on our fellow citizen Samir, attacked “physically and with homophobic insults” in Salerno, slapped and punched right in the center. This latest episode of gender violence pushes us to insist even more on equal opportunity policies. For years, a dedicated commission has been established in Baronissi to raise awareness against all forms of violence, be it towards women or towards the LGBTQIA+ community, or bullying among young people”: this is stated by the candidate for Mayor Anna Petta, former Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Baronissi.

«As administrator of the Municipality of Baronissi I had the pleasure of celebrating Samir’s civil union, so the news of this violent episode affects me deeply, first and foremost as a friend, as well as as a representative of the institutions. Within our program we have already foreseen a large space dedicated to social policies, both in support of people in difficulty and with a view to raising awareness through the involvement of associations and especially schools. In Baronissi every citizen must feel free and safe. All the solidarity of my coalition and of all the people who participate in the project of an increasingly inclusive Baronissi goes to Samir.” This is said by the candidate for Mayor of the Municipality of Baronissi Anna Petta.
