What is Bioblitz?

The initiative consists in researching, identifying and possibly classifying, in a given environment, the greatest number of animal and plant life forms. The data collected will then be a valid tool for monitoring regional biodiversity.

All citizens can participate in the BioBlitz and are accompanied in their explorations by experts. The presence of the public is the fundamental element of the project: citizens, actively involved in a scientific activity, the so-called Citizen Science, contribute in a participatory manner to the value and biodiversity of Lombardy’s protected areas.

The data collected during the census are immediately entered into the IT platform www.inaturalist.org of the Bioblitz Lombardia 2024 project.

More information on surveys and how to register on the platform (Reference Park: Parco Pineta di Appiano Gentile and Tradate) will soon be available.

For more active participation, you are invited to download the free iNaturalist App, which will allow you to more easily identify plants and animals.
