SPORT – Departure of the Giro d’Italia

On Monday 6 May, Novara will become the hub of the Giro d’Italia with the Novara-Fossano stage! The departure is scheduled for around 1pm from Piazza Martiri, the city will be animated by the noise of the wheels and the determination of the athletes ready to battle. The streets of Novara will open to welcome cyclists and spectators in an unforgettable experience.

The route will embrace the beauty of the city, crossing Largo Costituente, Viale XX Settembre and Largo Don Minzoni, before walking along Via Biglieri and the majestic Corso Torino. The emotion will not stop here: Largo Leonardi and Corso Vercelli will be just some of the stops along the way towards the epic finish line. With a mix of urban roads and rural scenery, cyclists will cross Corso Vercelli again, then heading towards State Road 11 towards Vercelli, promising breathtaking views and endless adventures.

To ensure a safe and smooth day, the police, supported by civil protection volunteers, will monitor every corner of the route. From start to finish, they will be present to patrol the roads, crossings and areas considered at risk, ensuring that both cyclists and spectators can enjoy the event with complete peace of mind. An ordinance will therefore be published for the total closure of road traffic from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm with parking prohibited on both sides of the road in all the streets mentioned (largo Costituente, viale XX Settembre, largo Don Minzoni, via Biglieri, Corso Torino, Largo Leonardi, Corso Vercelli, Largo Cantelli, Corso Vercelli again and the state road 11 towards Vercelli) from 06:00 to 15:00.
